Mid 19th Century Gilt Bureau Plat

A mid 19th Century Gilt wood and gesso Bureau plat, probably French. In original condition, naturally distressed with various losses, faded glory.

The rectangular top missing its felt/leather skiver above a decorative frieze finished back front and sides standing on four gilt caryatid supports.

We are offering this in pre-restored original condition as it has a certain untouched beauty and a charm much in demand in today's interior settings.

Be aware of the losses as demonstrated in the photos. Structurally the desk is sound and stands firm
